A native of Charlton, New York, Maddy Hicks has been performing her original music for the past seven years. She chose to attend Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee to study songwriting, and will be returning in the fall for her sophomore year. Her genre of pop/singer-songwriter is defined by her influences, which include Sara Bareilles, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and John Mayer. Authentic and engaging, she delivers her songs with a pure melodic tone. The themes of her songs range from new love to love lost, big dreams to limiting fears, and reflective gratitude to wistful yearning. She is currently working on recording her music so she can share her stories with a wider audience.
